Hoop: Real leather

In Native American culture, the deer symbolizes grace, gratitude, agility and prosperity. Deer
are also gentle and represent sensitivity, intuition and gentleness.
Feathers: Natural feathersThe Ojibwe people have an ancient legend about the origin of the Dreamcatcher.
Storytellers speak of the Spider Woman, known as Asibikaashi, who took care of the children of the people. When the Ojibwe people dispersed to the four corners of North America, Spider Woman had a difficult time making journeys to all the sleeping children, so the mothers, sisters, and grandmothers weaved magical webs for the new babies using willow hoops and sinew. It is in shape of a circle to represent how giizis (the sun) travels each day across the sky. The dreamcatcher will filter out all the giiwanaadingwaam (bad dreams) and allow only good dreams to enter into our minds. There is a small hole in the center where those good dreams may come through. With the first rays of sunlight, the bad dreams will perish.
“Oh Great Spirit, Let my dreams be bigger than my fears, and my actions louder than my words”

Everything in my shop is an authentic Native American creation by me. I belong to the Lac Courte Oreilles Tribe, an Ojibwe people, a band of the Lake Superior Chippewa Indians in Northwestern Wisconsin.
"We, the Anishinabeg, the people of Odaawaa-Zaaga'iganiing, the Lac Courte Oreilles Tribe, will sustain our heritage, preserving our past, strengthening our present, and embracing our future. We will defend our inherent sovereign rights and safeguard Mother Earth".
Through my jewelry and other creations, I am connected to my heritage and my love of nature and hope that you will be to.
Consider pairing with a small leather medicine pouch (sweetgrass, tobacco, sage, cedar) to do a smudging ritual on your new dreamcatcher. For the Anishinaabe/Ojibwe, smudging is an essential aspect of their spiritual practice to bring positive energy to an item or space.

Yes. Everything on this site is an authentic Native American creation. I belong to the Lac Courte Oreilles Tribe, an Ojibwe people, a band of the Lake Superior Chippewa Indians in North-western Wisconsin. Although the items I create are not the traditional jewelry you usually see (using small seed beads) they are still created with spirit and value of the nature all around us.
Unfortunately, for the most part, I am unable to add initials or personal information to the antlers. It doesn't turn out well. But if you have an idea, please run it by me and I will see what I can do!
Custom orders are my FAVORITE orders. I can create something that you specifically created yourself. Please let me know your ideas and I will try to make something special for you.
Jewelry is put in an organza or burlap bag and accompanied with a personalized description of the traditional (Native American) meaning of the items materials. Dreamcatchers are carefully packaged so as not to damage the feathers and the story of the dreamcatcher is included on a postcard.
I can make multiple lanyards, hunting and fly fishing lanyards, at a discounted price. If you want antler incorporated into an item, that may be a little more difficult and depend on my current inventory. Please contact me and hopefully we can work something out!
Please pay attention to the lengths of my items as they are highly variable, even though I try to make everything as similar as possible. If you see something and would like a different length, please contact me and maybe we can work something out! I have a lot of inventory so chances are I can make one for your length request
After I cut up the antler into the pieces I want, I sand down the edges with a Dremel tool to make the antler piece smooth on all sides and edges. I will then put on 2-3 coats of clear lacquer giving the antler pieces a shine which not only protects the antler pieces but it brings out the antlers different colors and intricacies. All antler carvings are made with a Dremel tool and highlighted with black paint.
